One of my favorite quotes on being a helping professional and the therapeutic relationship is by Lyn Hauka. She so eloquently states “Holding space for another person is incredibly profound. When you hold space for someone, you bring your entire presence to them. You walk along with them without judgment, sharing their journey to an unknown destination. Yet you’re completely willing to end up wherever they need to go. You give your heart, let go of control, and offer unconditional support.”

As a therapist, I’m passionate about leveraging my years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker to hold that space for you in any way you need.

As the founding therapist at Houston Counseling Affiliates, I am committed to building a community of equally passionate licensed mental health professionals to promote hope and healing to as many of those who hurt as possible.

I graduated from University of Houston with a Master’s Degree in Social Work in December 2010. I also have a B.A. degree in Social Work from Texas Southern University. I have further training in MindBody medicine and have studied level one of the Gottman method of couples therapy.

In individual therapy, we will work closely to form a comfortable and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I provide a safe, judgement free zone to help you learn more...

"Can I use my insurance?"

I am in Network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and expanding to accept additional insurance carriers soon. If you  have another insurance provider, you can still be seen in the office as an Out-of Network client.  As an Out-of-Network client, I will provide you with a statement showing the dates of counseling sessions and the amount you paid for services, as well as a clinical diagnosis, which is what your insurance company requires in order to (possibly) reimburse you for mental health services by out-of-network providers. You must verify your out-of-network benefits to determine your coverage . Please see FAQs for additional important information.
